REFLECTIONS
Experience
Going through Typography is quite a huge bump on the road of gaining knowledge about something that is really outside my comfort zone. There were so many; too many self doubt on doing my work on this module. Throughout this journey, creating my own font was the most fascinating one as I did illustration before. This module managed to help me be more technical and really made me focus more on the details of the world of typography. It made me realize the intricacy of the design world.
Observations
Working on tasks had been difficult due to having to adapt to a new media which is very unfamiliar to me. Watching the video tutorials made me gained knowledge about the intricacy of typography and how it is dealt with in certain situations.
Findings
I find that in typography, there is much more detail to be seen than it is. The rules that take part in it is what makes things interesting because when arranged in a certain way, it makes a good composition. The guidelines that needed to be followed is very well detailed to the extend of the anatomy of letters. From a person that comes from a background of illustration and multimedia, working on typography was one way of going beyond my comfort zone.
