REFLECTION
Experience
Compared to Typography, Advanced Typography seems to have
greater freedom. I now approach typography differently than I
did before these two classes, when I wasn't very interested in
it. Typography in general is something that I had to get used to
since at first it felt so rigid. This semester, I had braced
myself for even more regulations to adhere to, but Advanced
Typography was really better and the work offered more autonomy.
There were more projects that included type design, and they
were my particular favourites because I like them more. It was
an excellent experience, and knowing about typography is also
really helpful because it improves my work in other areas.
Observations
I observed that creating layouts were some of my favourite parts
of this module. There were lots of moments that inspired me to
push through this module because it was good experience even
though there were burn outs. The tasks gave me lots of
determination and creative exercise which helped me expand my way
of working around typography.
Findings
I find that the tasks that I went through Advanced Typography
encouraged and taught me a lot in terms of design. Also, it
gave me lots of ideas for design and art. The task that I found
intriguing was typographic systems because it let me experiment
with a lot of layouts but have to work along the system.
